Thriving in an Unfamiliar Environment

1

I believe that you must have found yourself in an unfamiliar environment at one time or another. An environment where you don’t know anyone, you fear everyone, you trust nobody, you don’t know your way around, you don’t even understand the local language etc. How was the feeling? The first things that happen to you at such a time are anxiety, fear, confusion, hopelessness etc. At such a time, your social status, wealth, money, physical strength, education etc become unhelpful. It is a situation that we all dread.

Uncertainty

That is exactly the situation and the environment that we are facing today. Not just you, but the whole world. The corona virus epidemic has pushed all of us to a very unfamiliar environment and landscape. We fear everyone, rust nobody, we don’t know our way out of it. Your social status, wealth, money, physical strength, education etc is now unhelpful to you, your family and everybody else who matters to you. We are living in very uncertain, stressful and worrying times.

Our Consolation

We are not the first people to be in such a situation. In Genesis 50, when Jacob died, his Sons were so worried about what would happen to them. Would their brother Joseph take revenge on them? How would they survive in a foreign land? How safe would they be? What would they and their children be eating? They found themselves in a very an unfamiliar environment like we are in today. However, in Genesis 50:21, we see Joseph assuring them that everything would be okey and they needed not to worry.  He promised to protect, provide for and support them and their Children. Dear Brethren, this is exactly what the Lord is assuring us today. Regardless of the uncertainty caused by the corona virus pandemic, the Lord will protect, provide for and support all of us and our Children. Let us trust and rely on God. Cheer up, remain strong and hopeful. The Lord is watching over us. God bless you and keep you. Your online Shepherd, Rev. Josphat G. Charagu
